I recently stumbled upon a cool ad from Lego that really reminded me what it is like to be a child. I remember creating vast worlds in my mind from the simplest toys. These days I find that kids are being stripped of the simplicity that fosters creativity and the openness that inspires imagination. Video games are great examples of this. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always enjoyed my video games, but I was fortunate to grow up in a time where you control a character in an 8-bit game and the environment was up to you to imagine. Nowadays, the worlds and environments in these games are preconceived and are designed to remove all aspects of your imagination. This is why I appreciate Lego for staying true to their core business and continuously introducing products that help kids create their own worlds.
